Kiyoto Aoki, 86, of Captain Cook died May 18 in Las Vegas, Nev. Born in Kealakekua, he was a retired mechanic for J.M. Tanaka Construction, Grace Pacific, and Goodfellow Bros. He was a member of Kona Hongwanji Mission, Kumamoto Kenjin Kai, Hanei Kumiai, Operating Engineers No. 3, and a U.S. Army WWII veteran. Friends may call at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, at Kona Hongwanji Mission in Kealakekua for a 4 p.m. memorial service. Inurnment at 12 p.m. June 4 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire, no flowers. Survived by wife, Nobuko Aoki of Captain Cook; sons, Craig (Lynette) Aoki of Kealakekua, Noel (Elizabeth) Aoki of Hilo; daughter, Wanda (Joseph) Kapahu of Hilo; daughter-in-law, Teresa Aoki of Kailua-Kona; brother, Haruo Aoki of Kealakekua; sisters-in-law, Yaeko Aoki of Hilo, Kazue Aoki and Natsuko Aoki, both of Kealakekua, and Ineko Aoki of Honolulu; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Muriel Jane Boom, 81, of Pahoa died May 21 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kansas City, Mo., she was a retired travel agent, lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3830, an accomplished artist, hula dancer and ukulele player. Celebration of life and potluck at 5 p.m. Friday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3830 located at the end of Maluhia Rd., in Pahoa. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Richard F. Pablo Cablayan Draculan, 102, of Hilo died Friday, May 18, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Cagayungan, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was retired from the former Hamakua Sugar Company. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo; the Filipino Catholic Club; the former Kuhilani Kumiai; and a saxophonist with MC and The Swing Masters of Ookala. Visitation will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation from 9-9:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo; Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Tessie C. Kami, 85, of Hilo died Apr. 26 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Ewa, Oahu, she was a retired secretary for the State of Hawaii Department of Health, member of Church of the Holy Cross and Nohea St. Kumiai. Private services held. No flowers, no koden. Stephen Keliimolowaole Kapanui, 79, of Honolulu died May 15 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Kailua-Kona, he was a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation Monday, June 4, at 6 p.m. at Mililani Downtown Mortuary. Service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation on Tuesday, June 5, at 8:30 a.m. at the mortuary, followed by 9:30 a.m. service. Marcelo “Celo” Q. Jacinto, 78, of Hilo died Tuesday, May 22, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Solsona, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he worked for Mauna Kea Sugar Plantation and he also was a member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo Church of Christ. Alma L. Prigmore, 91, formerly of Hilo, died Tuesday, May 22. She was a former real estate broker and owner of Tapa Realty. Her ashes will be deposited in the ocean in Hilo, joining those of her husband, James. Survived by sisters, Pat (Jack) Houser, and Betty Faris; several nieces and nephews.
